How To Set Up an OpenAI Account, Add Payment, and Create an API Key

1. Create Your OpenAI Account

  1. Go to https://platform.openai.com/signup
  2. Sign up using your email, Google, or Microsoft account.
  3. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.

2. Add a Payment Method

  1. Log in at https://platform.openai.com
  2. Click your profile icon (top-right corner), then choose “Manage Account”.
  3. Go to the Billing tab.
  4. Click “Add payment method”.
  5. Enter your credit/debit card information and save.

3. Create an API Key

  1. In the OpenAI dashboard, click on your profile icon (top-right) and select “View API Keys” (or just click “API Keys” in the left menu).
  2. Click the “Create new secret key” button.
  3. Name your key (optional) and click Create.
  4. Copy your API key and store it somewhere safe.
    Note: You won’t be able to view it again!

4. Start Using Your API Key

You can now use this key in any of our AI Plugins that integrate with OpenAI.
